ADOPTION APPEAL FOR DARLA. PLEASE SUPPORT THIS YOUNG DOG
Darla is a very loving and affectionate dog of approximately 10-12 months. She is stunning and possibly a Staffy cross Mastiff. She came into our care as an emergency with a badly broken back leg. Darla has had two lots of surgery due to problems with the pin in her leg during her first surgery. Sadly the pin had to be removed so Darla only had a plate keeping the bone in place. One word - "difficult". Darla recovered in a family foster home and was crated and monitored. Due to being such a young dog extra sedation was needed to keep her calm and pain free so the leg could mend. This has been a difficult task and Darla has been unable to be over stimulated and walked. Darla is now better and needs slow and short walks. Sadly her foster family have decided not to keep her and she has been returned to kennels (15th August). Now recovered Darla is no longer the calm and sedate lady and her busy and puppy like nature has proved too much for her potential adopters. She is now a full on bouncy youngster that needs stimulation, socialising and energy burn offs. Darla has now started walking and has proved herself high spirited and amazing. She has done so much better on her first walks than we could imagine. Positive training is now in place and we are aiming high to find her the perfect dedicated home. She is no longer the poorly dog that arrived and is boisterous and bouncy and still very puppy like however in a large dogs body. Darla adored her foster people and we are so heartbroken that she has ended up back in kennels. We will be dedicating extra time to Darla who now needs extra socialisation with dogs and the outside world in general. Darla was living with teenage children and adored them. She bonded so well and her adjustment back into kennels has made her sad and bewildered. Darla is now signed off from the vets and she will be having regular walks, meet and greets with new people and dogs. This large puppy deserves a very special dedicated home and we are aiming high for her.
DARLA IS A LARGE BREED STAFFY CROSS MASTIFF PUPPY
Darla needs a home that is dedicated and prepared to support her with guidance and boundaries. Our charity is here to support you all the way with a brilliant behaviourist and ourselves for any support and guidance. Darla is loving and friendly and now needs to be treated as a young pup and have all stripped back to basics again. Darla is now only approximately 10-12 months. She is crate trained and feels safe and secure and calm however needs stimulation and boundaries and exercise now she has recovered. We do not want Darla in a crate for hours on end now her leg has healed. She needs extra stimulation and needs to be out walking on a socialisation programme with other dogs. We can help you. Darla has so much love to give. A home with experience and someone used to owning large breed boisterous dogs. Darla needs an adult home or a family with adult children and someone who is around during the day. This lady is stunning, affectionate and so very close to our Hearst due to all she has been through. We are working extremely hard to help stray dogs in Yorkshire. If we didn't help Darla in her times of need with a broken leg then she sadly would have lost her life. Darla needs to find an adult home and have boundaries and guidance so she can grow into a well rounded adult dog. Darla's progress has been pushed backwards due to eight weeks with a broken leg. We reach out for people to offer help and support. In return you will be given help and support by our rescue and a fully qualified behaviourist. CALLS ARE WELCOME. Please fill in an application by clicking on the adopt me button at the bottom of this page.
